I have trouble reading books about kabbalism. When I here someone talking special holidays and about their importance if one is to live a spiritual life, all i can think of is cultural egotism and the stagnated following of tradition. It is difficult to filter out the cultural, egotistical bullshit and keep the positive aspects of kabballah, but I believe there is so much wisdom hidden between the ego shit that it is a worthy pursuit.
People tend to hang onto tradition and fail to see the true nature of things. They interpret the spirit based around their culture and past. I wish they would be able to see that their culture and interpretation system, with all its holy days and rules, is not as important as the spirit itself.
Filter the book, take what is useful, discard what is useless.
